At a point, Hazel Cagalitan had to come out to her parents because sexuality can’t be hidden for long. Before starting, we would like to say that coming out from the closet must have been a very hard decision to make.

And we’re all very proud of the woman. Now, let’s get on to the story.
First of all, Hazel’s parents are very religious Christian. Of course, that means that they’re conservative and absolutely not like the LGBTQ community.
Hazel’s Coming Out.
Hazel started talking to her parents and didn’t stir around and wait to talk to her parents. She said,
“Pa, would you be angry if I like women? …I like men and I like women.”
We could tell right away that Hazel’s mother did not like what she said in an instance. Her mother continues saying,
“It’s unacceptable. I hope it will be gone soon. Let’s pray fervently.”

Moving on, Hazel explains that her fiance Tarik Meyers has no problem with her sexuality.
Disheartened by how her mother reacted, Hazel said,
“What I’m supposed to do when I’m already like this? I didn’t tell you before because I didn’t want you to be upset. But this is me. Even if it pains me to tell you.”
For now, it’s very hard for Hazel. But at least she has a shoulder to lean on. Remember how Hazel said Tarik was and is the only man who has accepted her for who she is.
Back in December, she mentioned,
“I’m glad because finally, I found a guy that really accepts me and especially my son, and now I’m not shy for being me.”
Whether or not Hazel will be accepted by her parents or not is unknown. But we hope things get better.
