Wheeler Dealers host Ant Anstead is introducing us with an Alfa Romeo replica that supposedly is the cost-effective way of (classic)racing car ownership. Alfa 158 Grand Prix is that racing car that won the F1 World Championship twice in 1950 and 1951 respectively.
As the icon and the best of best from racing cars, Anstead has given the remake of the car his own twist.
He says how satisfying it is to build and drive your own car which is why he was inspired by Alfa 158. Ant says, “I was so inspired by the Alfa 158 that I made my own version of it.”
Moving on, Ant also mentioned,
“It’s so satisfying building and then driving your own beautiful car that I wanted to give other enthusiasts the chance to get into their garages. And workshops, open up the toolbox and do the same.”
Furthermore, “It’s been a tough time for plenty of people in the past year. So I’d also underline how good for your mental wellbeing. It is to make something as beautiful as the Tipo184 from scratch.
Apparently, his Tipo 184is a model that collectors will be able to put together from the kit in their garage. And the kit costs only about £16,450.
Moving on, Anstead also said, “It’s also important that it was extremely affordable. That’s why we’ve kept the cost of the kit to the minimum and it’s based on easy-to-source, affordable MX-5/Miata components.”
You will be able to see the car in racing and more. So stay tuned for more of those details.
